I wanted to play around with lava and see what kind of animated maps I could make. It was a for-fun project, and Cinderhall Forge is the result. Cinderhall is a walled dwarven forge city on a cliff. The first map is a stone bridge with low walls and a lava river flowing underneath, which makes it a good place for a high-stakes fight. Let your players push the monsters into the lava, and remind them the monsters can push back. At the shrine, lavafalls pour down the rock walls and magma pools around an anvil. Use it for a social encounter with an ancient dwarven god, or with a golem guardian that decides who gets to use the forge. Ideas for your table The special forge. The party needs a magic weapon or piece of armor, and only this forge can make it. You decide what makes it special. Hold the bridge. The guardian agrees to forge it, but the work takes all night. Something is coming up the canyon to stop it, and the party has to hold the bridge until the hammering stops.
